I don't know what to say really... it's not often that I submit unfinished work ^^;

this has been sitting on my computer for ages, just waiting to be done... and given how I don't have much to show right now I thought I'll just post a snippet of Cloud that's almost nearly done.... just to say that I'm alive ^^

All advice [especially on the colours given how I'm trying to be a bit more brave with my palette] would be much appreciated... Thank you :heart:

maybe you want to emphasize the lines on his nose and mouth though? Just because you're using outlines for the other parts of his face, like his eyes and such.

I like the crisper pale outline of the hair; it gives a sharp focus that then draws attention to Cloud's face. The way his arm recedes into the background is very effective as well.

Since you were looking specifically for color advice, I would say that if you plan to continue the dark, cool colors on the lower right side of the picture, I would emphasize the warm magenta and purples that are peeking through the clouds a bit more. Adding a few golden hues might help too, but not too much.
I do like the little bit of green-blue that can be seen in his hair.

I can't wait to see the finished version!

Kiyaaaahh Neggy! This is gorgeous! I LOVE the colours and his expression!

The only thing I would maybe note, is that the lighting and highlights seems backwards on his face? Like the shadows should be on the other side as all the clothing highlights and your light source seems to be on the right side?

But seriously, WOW. Your style always astounds me, as does your detail and textures! I can't wait to see this finished! :hug:

This isn't done? what exactly needs work still? Braver with your color palette? In what way exactly? I probably would have no advice anyway, as I am not good with the colors. I still think this looks amazing, completed or not. :o

the combination of a painterly background with cloud's more outlined/lineart style looks incredible! the lighting effect looks very surreal -- very 'fantasy' :D great job!
